I Do That Too!

There is power in numbers. There is peace in knowing you are not alone. Have you ever been with a friend and shared something that you felt was a bit “weird” or “odd” about how you live your life… or your relationship…or how you parent...or just who you are overall---and they shared that they have similar feelings or actions? All of the sudden you don't feel so weird anymore, right? You feel less shame, you feel validated, you no longer feel alone with that weirdness.

If you are a parent, consider what hiding pieces of ourselves models to our children. We are teaching kids that part of who we are is not ok….we are instilling shame. I know that is not what we want.

Being authentic and sharing who you are can be extremely liberating. When you feel like you can be or share your truth, or that you don't have to hide who you are, your ability to feel and find happiness increases.

I want to encourage you to stop masking the things that you think makes you and yours different. If something works for you and your family you don't need to care what others think! Be vulnerable, embrace who you are and I bet you will be shocked with all of the genuine connections you will make with other like minded people.

There is power in numbers, but you will never find your numbers and your people if you don't live proudly and share who you truly are!!
